Plans lodged for 11-storey Bristol PRS development

An 11-storey tower featuring 120 apartments for the private rented sector (PRS) could be built in Bristol’s Temple Quay Enterprise Zone if newly-submitted plans are given the go-ahead.Legal and General Property, supported by property consultant Alder King and architect Assael Architecture, has lodged plans for plot ND6 at the site, located off Avon Street, Temple Quay.The proposals cover the construction of an 11-storey building featuring 120 flats, with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties, for the PRS market. The new apartments will be managed by Legal and General Property.Commercial space suitable for retail, food and drink, office, leisure use, will be created on the ground floor.The scheme also includes secure cycle parking as well as associated landscaping and public realm improvements.Earlier this year proposals from Legal and General for a residential-led development on the neighbouring ND7 site, including 255 flats in an 11-story tower, were granted planning consent by Bristol City Council.This scheme also includes two commercial units measuring 4,000 sq ft and 1,765 sq ft together with a fitness centre and social space, including a café and lobby.Plans have also been submitted for a 200-bedroom hotel at Glassfields, a mixed-use scheme under development at the former Guardian Royal Exchange site in the Temple Quay Enterprise Zone.
