Build contract awarded for worlds largest offshore wind farm
A contract has been awarded to build the world’s largest offshore wind farm – Hornsea Project Two – off the coast of Yorkshire in what has been dubbed a “breakthrough moment” for the industry.DONG Energy was awarded the work at the lowest-ever price for offshore wind in the UK at GBP 57,50MWh.The project will have a capacity of 1,386MW, enough to power over 1.3 million UK homes, meaning it will surpass Hornsea Project One. It is expected to be operational from 2022.
