Produce World site transformation set for go-ahead
A scheme to build up to 120 homes, 16,145 sq ft of commercial space and retirement accommodation on the site of a former factory in Lincolnshire has been recommended for approval.Applicant Produce World Ltd is seeking permission from North Kesteven District Council for the development on land at Moor Lane, Swinderby, with the authority expected to make a final decision at a meeting on Tuesday 19 September 2017.The proposal relates to a plot once owned by Fenmarc Packaging before it was purchased by Produce World in 2014 as part of a programme of acquisitions. However, the site became surplus to requirements and was closed down.Produce World put the site on the market in 2015 but a new occupier could not be found.The application had been discussed by the council at a meeting last month but a decision was differed until next week.
