The overall aim of this requirement is to deliver an Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Online CBT) programme, in order to upscale the use of the service across Specified Location and make it more widely available to patients suffering with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression as well as exploring the opportunity of extending this to be used within other public sector organisations.
The Awarding Authority will be looking to procure 1200 licences over a 3 year contractual period.

Awarding Authority has implemented an Online CBT solution for the patients of Powys, this was initially done in conjunction with a consortium of 23 partners across Europe as part of the research pilot project, MasterMind, but also supports the NICE recommendations to utilise Online CBT in cases of mild-moderate depression and panic disorder.
The purpose of the project is to further extend and upscale the access of Online CBT and other modern CBT solutions to a greater number of patients in Powys (where applicable). 8.2 million people suffer from anxiety disorders across the UK, we estimate that there are over 10, 000 people in Powys suffering with mild-moderate depression, this number added to the complexity of the rurality and access to treatment challenges (waiting times) means that a solution such as online CBT which provides patients with “online” access to a therapy proven to be effective in the treatment of these conditions really enhances the mental health service offered to the people of Powys.
This service will add to the options available to patients suffering with mild-moderate depression and improve timeliness and provide quicker access to therapies. It can also empower healthcare professionals with information of the “enrolled” patients “mindset” throughout completion of each online session, and trigger any intent of suicide of patients completing the Online CBT programme, therefore providing an opportunity of support to the patient, and prevention of harm or crime that as a health board we may not have for this group of patients without Online CBT.
The use of Online CBT is directly linked to and supports the ambitions set out in Awarding Authority IMTP (Interim Medium Term Plan), “Improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of the people of Powys” as well as being strategically linked to the “Together for Health” strategy in “aiming to make substantial improvements in the way you can access health information over the coming months and years”.
