18-storey tower block tipped for go-ahead
A plan to build an 18-storey tower as part of a 68-flat development in Birmingham has been recommended for approval.The Sandiper Group is behind the proposed scheme for the corner of Essex Street and Bristol Street.Part of the development will be seven storeys, if Birmingham City Council’s planning committee approve the plan, which also includes commercial units on the ground floor.If granted the go-ahead, four buildings dating from the late 19th century, which have fallen out of use, will be demolished.
