Galliford Try wins school contracts
The Washington branch of Galliford Try has secured two contracts to improve school buildings in Northumberland.The work was awarded by Northumberland County Council following its decision to reorganise schools into a primary and secondary system of education.The company will further extend the Duchess Community High School in Alnwick, adding an £8m block to the building to accommodate an additional 500 pupils. A new two-form entry primary school is also being built at Darras Hall as part of a £5.8m project.In the past, Galliford Try has worked on the North East Priority School Building Programme (PSBP), which created 12 new schools across the region.
