Citu unveils first images of pioneering new Leeds homes
Sustainable urban development company Citu has unveiled detailed images of its first timber-framed housing system, which will be used at a site in Leeds.Citu Home was designed by the company in a bid to create one of the most energy efficient houses in the world. Citu said the model could be a “game changer in the fight against climate change”.Properties using the model will be built at the developer’s Climate Innovation District in Leeds, the UK’s first urban low-carbon neighbourhood.Straddling the River Aire, the site will eventually comprise more than 500 Citu Homes, including houses and apartments.The Citu Home was developed in partnership with Leeds Beckett University. A combination of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes will be manufactured at Citu Works, which will have the capacity to produce up to 750 units once fully operational.
