Council to build 10,000 new homes through ethical company
Liverpool City Council is due to approve plans to set up a new ethical housing company to help deliver 10,000 new homes (December 8th).The company, called ‘Foundations’, aims to “dramatically shake up” the city’s housing market and accelerate the rent to buy sector by taking a percentage from rent to cover deposits.It will also build bespoke properties for the homeless, foster carers, large families, the elderly and people with a disability. The programme is also expected to create 2,000 new jobs.
