Decision on 1m sq ft of Rushcliffe employment land nears
A decision on whether a huge mixed-used scheme near Clifton, Nottingham, which could create over 2,500 jobs will be decided on next week.Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Planning Committee will make the long-awaited decision about the application for new homes and employment units at Fairham Pastures.The site has been dentified in Rushcliffe’s Local Plan and part of the requirement to deliver 13,500 new homes in the Borough over the next ten years.The outline application, submitted in July 2014, includes up to 3,000 new homes; 1.07 million sq ft of employment land generating in excess of 2,500 new jobs; new shops, community buildings and a new primary school. As well as sports pitches, a destination park, childrens’ play areas, community park and woodland, the application includes space for four gypsy and traveller pitches.
