Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Cardiff Council are acting as lead authority in the procurement of a recycling service for waste arising from mechanical road sweeping operations for the following authorities; Caerphilly County Borough Council, Newport City Council, Rhondda Cynon Taff, and Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Provision of the Services includes the following requirements to be implemented by the Provider:
– regular and ad hoc collection and transportation of mechanical road sweeping waste from the Sites to a fully licensed and approved road sweepings treatment facility capable of achieving the required performance standards and Environment Agency protocols for treatment of materials;
– treatment and recycling of the mechanical road sweeping waste regardless of state or condition upon collection, i.e. wet or dry;
