Planning application goes in for new North Devon cancer and wellbeing centre

A planning application has been submitted for North Devon’s new cancer and wellbeing centre.Hospital charity Over and Above has put in proposals for the building at North Devon District Hospital (NDDH), now it has raised a third of its build costs.It is hoped once permission is granted construction of the centre could begin late this year or early next year.The centre, which will be built opposite the maternity unit, will have three en-suite rooms for families of patients at NDDH to use, as well as meeting rooms for support groups and counselling.There will also be informal seating areas for visitors, therapy rooms, advice on everything from treatment to finances, and a landscaped, outdoor area too.To find out more about the Over and Above charity, visit www.overandabove.org.uk, the charity’s Facebook page, contact the fundraising team on 01271 311772, or email ndht.charity@nhs.net.
