Glasgow Apprenticeship Challenge 2018 is launched

Employers in Glasgow are being challenged to put together a team of their top apprentices in a competition to benefit the local community.The Glasgow Apprenticeship Challenge 2018 is asking businesses to put forward their current apprentices to oversee and deliver a project from start to finish. Coordinated by Developing the Young Workforce Glasgow and hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, the competition will open on 30 April and run through to 28 September.During the challenge, apprentices will plan and execute their project using the skills they have developed through their training. They will then give a presentation at a showcase event in November, after which a regional winner will be selected to compete in the wider Scottish challenge.In 2017, a team from Scottish Water won the Glasgow challenge for developing walking tours of the waste water treatment sites for teachers.
