Detailed plans for Leeds Skelton Lake Services approved
Detailed designs for a £60m motorway services at junction 45 of the M1 have been approved.Leeds City Council’s planning officers recommended that a reserved matters application be approved by members at a plans panel meeting last week (29 March), which the panel unanimously agreed.Investor and operator Extra MSA Group can now commence construction works at Leeds Skelton Lake Services. The successful contractor for the enabling works package is expected to be announced and on-site by mid-April.The new services, located at the gateway to the Leeds Enterprise Zone, is due to open during summer 2019 and will create more than 700 new jobs throughout its construction and operation. Extra’s proposals include food court style facilities building, together with a business centre, fuel filling station and 100-bedroom hotel.
