Stornoway Harbour plans to be opened to public consultation
Ambitious proposals to create a new deep water port and marina at Stornoway Harbour are to be opened to public consultation.Stornoway Port Authority will outline the plans at its annual meeting next month and at two public exhibitions.The plans include a facility for berthing cruise ships up to 350 metres long. This would attract an expected 35 to 40 additional vessels a year and increase passenger visits. A new marina with pontoons for leisure craft, a marina services building, public slipway and a boat lift structure would help respond to a potential 18 per cent rise in sailing tourism in Scotland by 2023.
