Equity Housing Group makes North West pledge
Cheadle-based Equity Housing Group has outlined plans to develop more than 860 affordable properties across the North West over the next five years.Of this total, 45 per cent would be shared ownership. This is in addition to the 1,100 such units already managed and operated by the social housing provider.The pledge comes as Equity hails the shared ownership initiative, saying it provides a “stepping stone towards outright ownership”. The scheme allows those who cannot afford a 100 per cent mortgage to get on the property ladder by taking out a smaller mortgage to purchase a percentage of the home and pay rent on the rest.
