Plans in for sixth form, offices and hotel development
Plans to build a new sixth form college with hotel, leisure and office space in Cwmbran have been submitted to Torfaen County Borough Council.If approved, the four-storey development will sit in about six acres at the former Meritor manufacturing site with 166,507 sq ft of internal space: 44,104 sq ft of which will be business use and 32,291 sq ft for a hotel.The site, which is between the current Arvin Meritor site and the Morrison’s supermarket, will also feature solar panels capable of generating 1,000MW.The proposals for the site will be considered by Torfaen County Borough Council in due course.
