Work will soon begin on a new affordable homes development at Cullen Drive in Glenrothes following approval from Fife Council. The new development will see the regeneration of the former brownfield site to include 78 new dwellings for affordable social rent – a mix of high quality, modern bungalow, wheelchair accessible, amenity housing and two-storey homes. The transformative site is part of the wider Fife Council Affordable Housing Programme being carried out by development partner Robertson Partnership Homes and supported by town planners and architects Barton Willmore. The planning application also included public realm space, in addition to associated car parking, landscaping and links with existing street and established infrastructure.Fife Council’s Affordable Housing Programme is one of the largest in Scotland, with a target to build at least 3,500 new affordable homes over five years by 2022.The development at Cullen Drive was procured through Scape Group’s National Major Works Framework, now superseded by Major Works Scotland, part of the (Scape) National Construction framework, and delivered by Robertson in partnership with Willmott Dixon.
