Exmouth watersports centre plans set to be approved

A plan to build a new watersports centre on Exmouth seafront has been recommended for approval.At the June meeting of its development management committee East Devon district councillors will decide on the application put forward by Grenadier Exmouth Ltd.Planning officers are recommending that the committee approve the application – subject to a number of conditions. A committee report detailing the planning assessment of the proposal will be available on the council’s website later this week.The application from Grenadier Exmouth Ltd is to build the watersports centre on the site currently used as a car park in Queen’s Drive.The watersports centre project is ‘phase two’ of East Devon District Council’s regeneration project for the seafront.If given the go ahead, it will include a two-story building with café, restaurant and retail units plus car parking and ramped access to the beach.
