Plans in for Old Trafford scheme
Outline plans for an almost 440-strong residential development on the site of a former B&Q in Old Trafford have been submitted.Property developer and investor Accrue Capital is behind the application, which has been drawn up on the back of an extensive public consultation programme which sought the views of a variety of stakeholders. The company has been working with Indigo Planning and O’Connell East to produce the masterplan. The 433 homes planned for Trafford Place would include a mix of one-bed, two-bed and three-bed properties, as well as new public realm and ground-floor units designed for a range of commercial or community uses. It would step up from six storeys in height away from Great Stone Road, to a maximum height of 12 storeys above the parking. It would be expected to yield “significant economic benefits” for the area including adding more than £30m during the construction phase, as well as the creation of a “substantial number” of temporary construction jobs.
