Bid submitted for 3,000 job-creating employment park
A formal planning application to build a new employment park near Junction 11 of the M42 which could create up to 3,000 jobs has been submitted.The proposals from IM Properties for the 238-acre site at Hill Top Farm, Stretton-en-le-Field near Appleby Magna were first revealed by Insider in March.The developer has previously said the scheme could create up to 170 construction jobs per annum during the build as well as bringing in excess of £7m per year of business rates for the district.The plan currently includes five zones with construction expected to start in 2019 and finish in 2021 if North West Leicestershire District Council gives the scheme the go-ahead.The application features provision for 3.6 million sq ft of warehousing which would vary in size from 200,000 sq ft up to one million sq ft.
