Plans in for 500-home Immingham scheme

Plans have been lodged for a development of more than 500 homes and a new care home on a site on the outskirts of Immingham.The Brocklesby Estate, supported by Ancer Spa and FPCR Environment and Design, has submitted an application to North East Lincolnshire Council for a site off Stallingborough Road, on the southern edge of Immingham.Planning consent is sought for the development of up to 525 new houses, with a mix of two-, three-and four-bedroom housing, together with a three-storey care apartment block facility for the elderly, providing a further 80 homes.Also included in the proposals is new access, children’s play areas and new public open space.The 57.8-acre site currently comprises the Highfield Farm complex and three agricultural fields. Under the plans, the Highfield Farmhouse building would be retained, with the others demolished.The site is earmarked for residential development as part of the adopted North East Lincolnshire Local Plan (2018).If planning consent is secured, the first phase of 130 properties would be brought forward with a housebuilder. The remainder of the development would be built in phases over 15 years.
