Pipeline Framework: Substance Misuse Outreach and Intensive Accommodation Support

A pipeline has been launched for Substance Misuse Outreach and Intensive Accommodation SupportThe contract start Date is 01 April 2019. Approach to market date is 02 October 2018Suffolk County Council is undertaking a procurement for services to support clients to effectively engage with community treatment services to address substance misuse issues. The services will be separated into 2 lots. Lot 1: Drug and Alcohol Recovery Outreach Service (DAROS) DAROS is a service to support vulnerable people who are suffering with addiction to drugs and/or alcohol alongside a range of complex issues, to engage with mainstream services. The ultimate aim of the outreach service is to improve health and wellbeing of this community, assist clients to achieve recovery from alcohol and drug use through engagement with the Suffolk community treatment provider, Turning Point, and to assist in tackling the wider complex issues associated with this group. Often this client group will be using substances on the streets and will not be accessing treatment, leaving them very vulnerable to drug related death. Lot 2: Supporting Treatment, Accommodation and Recovery in Suffolk (Stars) Stars service aims to enable those clients engaged with substance misuse treatment services access to suitable and stable accommodation and receive a period of very intensive, individually tailored support. The support provided must consider the holistic needs of the client with a focus on capitalising on a clients’ recovery journey. The service will need to work closely with Turning Point to ensure clients have a supportive and suitable accommodation to directly contribute toward a successful outcome for the client and continued recovery from problematic substance misuse.It is anticipated that the publication of the tender will be on, or during the week prior to the 2nd October 2018.This is a potential opportunity from the government, and the pipeline gives advance notice of an opportunity that might be offered by the public sector in the future – allowing potential suppliers to plan accordingly.
