Contractor hired for next phase of landmark Leeds scheme
The contractor for the next phase of a landmark office-led scheme in Leeds has been named, with work on site due to start next month.Wates Construction has been appointed by developer MEPC to work on 4 Wellington Place, which will comprise 153,000 sq ft of grade A office space, along with retail and leisure space.Paul Pavia, head of development at MEPC, said: “Wellington Place has experienced an incredible period of growth over the last five years and that reflects well on the Leeds commercial property market and the region as a whole.”We’re proud to be able to offer such high-quality buildings within stunning public realm that makes Wellington Place such an attractive place to do business.”The project will be the seventh building completed by Wates at Wellington Place and the ninth building at the development overall.
