Delivery point Lots C2 and C3 of HS2 Phase 1 route
HS2 Phase Two is a high-speed railway between London and Birmingham.
The Awarding Authority is in charge to develop the design for two sections, C2 and C3, which represent 80km length on the central area of the project.
The subject of this challenge is to set suppliers providing concrete a reduction target of 20%

Awarding Authority looking for reduced carbon concrete solutions that adhere to the following criteria;
Material choices should aim to have a long design life to support the reduction of GHG emissions over a 120 year life span.
Scope should only be product environmental impacts A1-A3
Material innovations must come with a carbon factor or Environmental Product Declaration.
Innovation preferably not associated with increasing GGBS/PFA amount.
In use construct ability is a significant effects on carbon. It is preferred to develop a very efficient and fast construction methodology with the material, with the best Health and Safety work conditions for workers.
Logistics is also an issue due to the scope demand. Experience of the supplier to deliver materials in large capacity are a key assessment criteria.

An innovation is a product, service or idea that will add value over and above current industry best practice
All questions on the innovation profiling questionnaire will be scored out of 5 (1 being low confidence and 5 being high confidence)
Upon successful shortlisting your innovation will be communicated to the HS2 innovation panel. If approved an Innovation Delivery Plan will then be required to plan the implementation and realization of the innovation.
