Further plans unveiled for Middlesbrough ski centre
New details about Middlesbrough’s £30m indoor ski centre have emerged, with plans for a range of leisure facilities including a gym, climbing wall, indoor skydiving and an ice bar.The newly-named Subzero development, proposed for land on Scott’s Road close to the Riverside Stadium, received outline planning permission in March 2017.A new brochure released by developer Cool Runnings (NE) proposes a range of amenities to complement two indoor ski slopes, including a snow bar, an ice bar, indoor skydiving, a bowling alley, a trampoline park, soft play area, climbing wall and a gym. Additional associated retail space, restaurants and cafes will also feature.Plans to develop the location’s water facilities on the surrounding dock, with a cable ski and unit surf pool, are also being considered.
