New plans for prominent former car showroom
New plans have been revealed to redevelop a prominent former car showroom site in Sheffield to provide retail units, office space and luxury townhouses.The site, located at the junction of Ecclesall Road, Ecclesall Road South and Psalter Lane, Banner Cross, was in use as a car showroom but has lain dormant for a number of years following Gilders relocation to Meadowhead.It currently comprises a car showroom with workshops and offices to the rear totalling more than 30,000 sq ft on a total site of about 2.25 acres.Sheffield-based Primesite UK has submitted an application to convert the showroom into four retail and leisure units, convert the workshop and stores into office accommodation for accountancy firm Brown McLeod and build eight luxury townhouses to the rear of the site.
