Industrial and retail development planned for heritage railway station

Plans to redevelop the site of a heritage railway station with industrial and warehouse as well as a microbrewery, café and events venue have been submitted for consideration.The plans for Midsomer Norton Railway Station have been submitted by Context Logic on behalf of the Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust.Under the plans, the current maintenance shed will be extended to provide a flexible events space, cafe and dining space, lecture space and viewing space for artisan repairs, crafts and microbrewery.The plans also include the development of ten commercial units totalling 3,229 sq ft on the 3.26-acre site.The development, which is estimated to result in 40 jobs being created, will also include a new 7,500 sq ft maintenance shed as well as three tourist accommodation units two of which will be one-bed and one a two-bed unit.Bath and North East Somerset Council will decide on the project in due course.
