INTRODUCTION
The University of Edinburgh invites competitive tenders a measured term contract for Electrical Small Works and Associated Services split into 2 geographical zonal lot areas. One different contractor will be appointed to each lot.
The University is looking to appoint a contractor to carry out electrical small works and associated services the delivery of which will be carried out around core business, and often in occupied buildings. Contractors will be expected to plan works with the end user’s operations in mind, and tailor a customer focused service with strong planning and communication throughout their organisation.
All contractors operating under this Contract must be members of either SELECT or NICEIC (or equivalent) and their employees hold an appropriate current SJIB grading card (or equivalent).
The University will be seeking a right first time or zero defects approach from contractors, and a strong waste management commitment.
The University has a population of over 29 000 students and 7 500 staff. University activity is spread over approximately 750 buildings in numerous locations covering 800 000 square metres around Edinburgh and beyond, with student accommodation provided at the Pollock Halls of Residence and across a range of flats around the city. Other major locations include Easter Bush, the Roslin Institute, the Western General Hospital and Firbush Outdoor Education Centre.
