Multimillion-pound regeneration project underway

Work is set to start today (7 January 2019) on a multimillion-pound project that aims to regenerate Cleethorpes.The £7.2m extensive programme of works includes improvements to town centre streets, public spaces and investment in historic buildings.PBS Construction (North East) has been appointed as the main contractor for the project.The first phase of works will include the High Street and the top of Alexandra Road down to Sea Road. This will be the main area of works from January 2019 to July 2019.During the first phase there will be a temporary one-way system established allowing traffic to travel from Isaacs’ Hill towards the roundabout at the Alexandra Road / Sea Road junction.The regeneration project was developed by CoastNEL, which includes representation from a range of local businesses and the community, and is supported by the North East Lincolnshire Council and ENGIE. Funding has been secured from the Coastal Communities Fund, Heritage Lottery, Local Transport Plan and North East Lincolnshire Council.
