Plan for new motorbike showroom gets green light
A new £1m motorbike showroom and retail facility in Gateshead is set to proceed after the scheme received planning approval.The site of the former Stadium Service Station on Park Road is to be redeveloped into a two-storey, 15,000 sq ft commercial unit used for motorbike sales.Adjoining ground floor units for food and drink retail have also been approved by Gateshead Council, along with onsite parking for up to 37 vehicles.The approval is the culmination of nine months of negotiations between the local authority and Hedley Planning Services.Newcastle-based Sadler Brown Architecture developed the design, working in cooperation with the council’s urban design officer.
