Plans approved for Macclesfield LDO
Planning powers for two areas in Macclesfield that will allow brownfield sites to become residential and commercial areas have been granted.The local development order (LDO), which was agreed at a meeting of Cheshire East Council’s cabinet, covers the areas known as North Side and Whalley Hayes.It effectively grants planning consent for a combination of residential and commercial developments – provided it meets the terms of the order, which promotes additional housing by the town centre and the re-use of brownfield land.
