Plans have been lodged for a new landmark eight-storey office building in the latest phase of the Sheffield Digital Campus scheme.Scarborough Group, supported by agent Zerum, has submitted a new planning application to Sheffield City Council for Building 4 of the Digital Campus development, close to Sheffield Station.Full planning permission is sought for a part seven-, part eight-storey office building with ground floor commercial space. The proposed building, to be known as Vidrio, would provide 60,000 sq ft of office space. The development has been designed to create a landmark building that will serve as a gateway into the city. It would complete the final phase of Sheffield DC, where enabling and substructure works have already been undertaken.Three office buildings have so far been constructed as part of the Sheffield DC scheme; Electric Works, Ventana House and Acero Works. The latter was sold to APAM for £26.6m in May 2018.In January, NASDAQ-listed business management software company Mindbody became the latest company to sign up for space, taking 7,400 sq ft of office space at Acero. An application for Building 4 was previously approved by the council in 2015. The new application proposes a number of changes from this scheme, including increasing the floor plates to 10,000 sq ft on floors 4-8, and increasing the core size.Scarborough Group has been supported in the new application by Cameg Project Management, Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher, Burnley Wilson Fish, Zerum, Arrol Associates, Arup and Assent Building Control.
