Riverside build-to-rent scheme gets the go-ahead
A build-to-rent development of more than 250 flats at Sheffield’s Wicker Island has been given the green light.The proposed development has been designed by Whittam Cox Architects on behalf of developer Brickland.The development will comprise three interconnected blocks with 268 apartments, commercial space, parking and residents amenity space, fronting onto the River Don.The conservation area, listed buildings opposite the site and new developments across the River Don have been taken into consideration in the design.The planning application was given the go-ahead by Sheffield City Council at a meeting on 19 February 2019.A planning officer’s report prepared for the meeting recommended approval for the scheme, as previously reported by Insider.
