BENTLEYS, Rolls Royces, McLarens and Land Rovers are set to be serviced at a proposed new unit at Parkgate Industrial Estate at Knutsford.Chancerygate is seeking planning approval from Cheshire East Council to build 14 units at the industrial estate.Approval was given in November for 16 units, and the latest scheme is the result of Chancerygate identifying a specific operator for part of the site. This has necessitated a reduction in the overall number of units from 16 to 14, and a reduction in the overall floorspace, and modifications have also been made to some of the speculative units previously approved.Chancerygate is one of the leading industrial and warehouse development businesses in the UK, and the site was owned by Cheshire East Council before being acquired by Oliver Valves, which Chancerygate subsequently acquired it from.To the west of the site is the existing Parkgate Industrial Estate, and to the east Birkin Brook, beyond which is a water treatment works. To the south is the elevated railway line, beyond which is a mix of commercial and housing development. The site’s northern boundary current abuts open fields, although the report noted that outline planning permission had been granted on land to the north for housing development. The deadline for comments on the application is March 28, with a target date for a decision of May 13.
