Raft of infrastructure projects gain council investment
Three more local authorities have approved investment in infrastructure projects as part of newly agreed budget plans.Falkirk Council is to invest £220 million over the next five years in various infrastructure projects.The local authority’s newly agreed budget will see the money committed to extensions to Maddiston Primary School (£4m) and Denny Primary School (£2.2m) as well as further work on the new Denny Eastern Access Road (£4.6m).Roads maintenance (£19.1m) and road safety schemes (£4.3m) will also be given funding as well as business property reinvestment (£2m), improvements to the Avon Gorge Road (£7.9m) and playpark upgrades (£0.4m).The council already approved its £280m five-year housing investment in January.
