95-home development set for refusal

Plans to build 95 homes across two blocks of apartments on the site of a warehouse on the banks of the River Avon are set to be thrown out after officers recommended them for refusal.The plans, for Chivers House in Bath, were drawn up by Troopers Hill and submitted by Pegasus Planning on behalf of CG WBR.The 0.67-acre site, which currently accommodates a 16,124 sq ft commercial warehouse, sits within the city’s UNESCO world heritage site. The same site was the subject of an application for a mixed-use scheme including 199 student beds and 6,134 sq ft of office space last year.Bath and North East Somerset Council’s development management committee meets on Wednesday (13 March 2019).
