The General Practice Intelligence Platform (GPIP) is one of the projects in the Dementia Phase 2 e-Health and Analytics Programme. It was initiated to meet the business intelligence needs of individual GP practices, GP Federations and multi-disciplinary teams.
The project will facilitate the extraction of data from all GP practices in Northern Ireland.
Vision is one of the GP clinical system suppliers involved and GPIP requires the installation of their Vision 360 product. Vision has mandated that the platform must be built using Oracle web and DB technologies — a range of Oracle licenses must be purchased to enable this.
Patient Portal provides patients with secure web access to a view of their own health record. The Portal is fully integrated into the existing Northern Ireland Electronic Care Record (NIECR) solution (built on Oracle technology) so to build the Patient Portal environments we require an extension of the existing Oracle Web and DB infrastructure.
