Eight-storey student accommodation plans lodged
Plans have been lodged to demolish a commercial building in Leeds city centre and construct a new eight-storey student accommodation scheme.Torsion Developments, supported by Zerum Planning Consultants and Den Architecture, has submitted an application to Leeds City Council for redevelopment of Index House on Burley Road.Index House is a two-and-a-half-storey commercial property currently occupied by a convenience store and a hot food takeaway.Planning permission is sought for the demolition of the building and construction of new student accommodation, with ground floor commercial units.The scheme would comprise 83 student beds in a mix of studios and clusters. A reception, communal area and cycle storage are also included. Three commercial units would be created on the ground floor.
