Pub to be demolished to make way for new homes
Planning permission has now been granted to demolish the pub, formerly known as the HerdsmanA pub in a Staffordshire Moorlands town is set to be knocked down and replaced with housing after planning permission was approved.The Pride of the Moorlands on Junction Road in Leek will be replaced with seven homes after Planning Officers at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council gave the scheme the go-ahead this week.The pub, which is still open and was formerly known as The Herdsman, will be replaced by seven three bedroom properties, according to an application submitted by developer James Barlow.One letter of objection was received to the scheme – raising concerns about increased traffic and light being blocked out.
