Plans to build 600 new homes in Trafford that will form part of a £100m development are set to be approved, this week.Blueprints, submitted to the town hall Galliford Try Partnerships and Trafford Housing Trust, revealed land at Heath Farm Lane, which backs onto Carrington Moss, in Partington, are a step closer to being rubber-stamped.The plan is for a mix of one and five-bed properties and apartments for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.Developers say 148 homes could be built on the former gas works site.A full planning application has been submitted for the first part of the new estate.Meanwhile, developers are also seeking outline planning permission for the remaining 452 homes, alongside new public open space.New roads will also be built, as well as car parking spaces, electrical sub-stations and drainage.Members of the council’s planning committee have been recommended to approve the scheme on Thursday. However, not everyone is in favour of the scheme as a number of residents have submitted objection letters to the council. They say the current transport infrastructure is already ‘poor, overstretched and inadequate’.
