II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Scottish Procurement will soon be tendering for the re-let of the 2 separate collaborative IT Hardware agreements:
1) Web based and propriety client device framework; and
2) Thin client device framework.
These current Framework Agreements are due to expire in November 2019. Work has already commenced in developing the procurement strategy options including canvassing of stakeholders views and this PIN and enclosed RFI (see VI.3) seeks to formally commence market consultation.
The Web based and proprietary client device framework scope will include but will not be limited to:
— a range of web based client devices along with a range of proprietary client devices. This framework will also include a range of accessories and all services associated with the deployment of the devices.
The Thin client device framework scope will include but will not be limited to:
— a range of thin client devices and operating systems. This will also include a range of accessories and all services associated with the deployment of the devices.

This PIN is issued for information only and does not constitute a call for competition. This PIN and enclosed Request for Information (RFI) is aimed at collating those views from the market participants. This information may be utilised in developing the procurement strategy to help deliver arrangements for these client device requirements.
Any collaborative arrangements would be on behalf of the whole of the Scottish public sector including the third sector and would be in support of the Scottish Government’s refreshed digital strategy “Realising Scotland’s full potential in a digital world: A Digital Strategy for Scotland”.
Views/comments are encouraged from suppliers interested in participating, particularly in regard to the technology, community benefits, commercials and sustainability.
