County Durham residential scheme moves forward
Keepmoat Homes has progressed with plans to build 256 houses on the edge of Newton Aycliffe, with work due to start on the first phase of the development later this month (April 2019).The housebuilder has completed purchase agreements for the Eldon Whins development site from Homes England. The scheme is being progressed under Homes England’s Accelerated Construction programme, which aims to speed up the building of new homes across the country.The first phase of site, which was granted planning approval in October last year, comprises 154 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for both private sale and affordable housing.Work is due to start on site at the Eldon Whins development this month with the first homes ready to move in to at the turn of the year. The overall 256-home scheme is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
