Ambitious property developer plans to deliver 2,500 homes
Birmingham-based property developer The Godwin Group is planning on building 2,500 homes to help alleviate the nation’s housing crisis.The group has launched a dedicated build-to-rent business, Core Living, which has plans to build thousands of homes.The first 500 homes will be located in Leicestershire, Yorkshire and the North, starting from April 2019. This will be followed by the rest of the UK with the aim of building another 2,000 homes in the next one to three years, according to the company’s ambitious plans.This follows the government’s changes in its National Planning Policy Framework, which defines build-to-rent (BTS) as a distinct product in the private rented sector.The Godwin Group has offices in Birmingham, Nottingham and London, and now has a portfolio totalling £600m GDV across 2.5m sq ft.
