Work underway on Bedford scheme
Construction has started on a new neighbourhood local centre in Bedford for LSP Developments.Building services company J Tomlinson is working on the £1m contract, won by tender, which includes the design and construction of 6,500 sq ft of retail space at Stewartby, Bedford.The development also features associated external works, including the formation of new car parking and landscaping at the site, which is in the middle of a housing scheme and on land east and west of Broadmead Road.The scheme will be anchored by a Midcounties Co-operative store.Other members of the Stewartby project team include architects’ practice West Hart Partnership and consultant 360 Project Management.Work is expected to be completed in August.
