Plans revealed for £25m energy plant at former Lemington Power Station in Newcastle
Scottish power group Stag Energy says the scheme forms an important part of transition to low carbon energy.An energy company has unveiled plans to build a £25m power project on the site of a former Newcastle power station, 100 years after it closed.Sambar Power Limited, a subsidiary of UK power generation group Stag Energy, wants to build a gas ‘peaking plant’ on the site of the former Lemington Power Station, which stopped generating electricity back in 1919.
