Plans in for further City Fields housing
Plans have been lodged for a new development of housing as part of the City Fields scheme in Wakefield.Stretton Estates (Wakefield), supported by Spawforths and MPSL, has submitted an application to Wakefield Council for the former Belle Vue Sidings site, known as the Heathlands West.Planning permission is sought for the construction of 135 new homes, as well as parking, access and infrastructure works.A mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties would be developed.The wider City Fields site measures 375 acres and is earmarked for 2,500 new homes, leisure, retail and commercial space, as well as a new relief road. It could support the creation of 3,200 jobs.Plans were lodged earlier this year for a 110,000 sq ft district centre to provide new retail, leisure, health and community facilities for the residents of the City Fields area.
