II.1.4) Short Description: The Astute East operation along with the College of Engineering in Swansea University seek tenders for an Industry 4.0 Interactive Learning System. The Industry 4.0 Interactive Learning System will be operated, used and administered by Swansea University and partly in the context of the Astute East operation.
The system is required to:
— provide students with practical experience of Industry 4.0 to embed a deeper understanding through interactive problem based learning and teaching activity,
— support research collaborations with companies as part of the Astute East operation.
It is envisaged that the system will support industrial, collaborative research under Astute East as a small scale exploratory test bed where it is essential to de-risk solution development and implementation as well as enhance the learning experience of 240, 3rd year mechanical engineering Students. The equipment will be located within the College of Engineering at the Bay Campus.

Detailed system configuration.
The Industry 4.0 Interactive Learning System requires the integration of up to 6 manufacturing stages. The system needs to include an Automated Guided vehicle (AGV) for transportation. In addition, a pick and place robot and automated storage/retrieval system (ASRS) is required. The full system should be supplied by one provider who can demonstrate a track record of integrating similar systems within other Academic environment within the UK.
