Redundant student halls would also be demolished and replaced with 410 apartments. The application is part of the University’s Campus 2025 Estates and Learning Environment Strategy.According to the University, once the development identified within Campus 2025 is delivered, it will bring substantial benefits in the delivery of academic courses at Glynd?r University,in the student accommodation offering within Wrexham and significant knock-on benefits to the town from a sustained and increased student populationThe project will also enable the sale of land assets which are not required by Glynd?r University to for residential development to meet Wrexham’s housing need and will also enable the university to to attract new students and sustain a viable position in the higher education sector, all of which the university says will help keep it in the town.Wrexham County Borough Council’s planning committee meets on 1 July 2019 to discuss the proposals.
