The framework will cover supply and delivery to the various United Utilities waste water sites across the North West of England that need pH correction following the use of Reactive Media for phosphorus removal/treatment.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement :
UU has been looking for alternatives to chemical dosing for pH correction as it can be required following Phosphorus removal using Reactive Media. The requirements for pH correction following Reactive Media are that it must be low complexity and require no chemical dosing in order to compliment the Reactive Media systems.
As an example acidic bark such as that from pine trees would be suitable to be used as a passive flow through solution.
Please note this is not a call for competition this is merely pre-market engagement whereby United Utilities wishes to understand what is potentially on offer before commitment is made to any formal procurement process.
We would ask that proposals are kept as clear and concise as possible.
