University eyes iconic city centre building
The University of Wolverhampton has revealed a bid to buy an iconic building in the city centre.The Beatties store was recently put up for sale by its current owners, Insolvency Practitioners, with a guide price of £3m.The university has said that its proposed investment in the building would include incubation space, residential, pop-up retail and leisure opportunities for communities and students as well as a focus on arts and cultural activities.It added that it is committed to retaining the Beatties name.
